April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born on July 4th, 1995. In the seventh grade she began taking guitar lessons and piano lessons. It was this that ignited her love for songwriting. April's very first song was called Different which she composed at 12 years of age. As April approached 14 years old, she dedicated an enormous amount of time developing song ideas and perfecting her music. Then, she began going in NY and LA along with her dad in order for them both to write songs. April also added additional themes to the tune "Take My Hand" for a few of her friends who dealt with problems like peer pressure, disabilities, and even teens who committed suicide. Lockhart is a beauty and lifestyle influencer with a growing following. She works with popular brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership as well as being a specialist in lifestyle. She was born without her left hand, and it's part of her story, but it's hardly her whole story. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't ignore her being disabled however, it doesn't focus on it. What message is it sending? The message? We each contain multitudes, that our identity and physical bodies aren't what they appear. Lockhart speaks via video in Nashville. "I do not wish for it to dictate my existence. I do not want to be only recognized as an expert in disabilities. It doesn't affect my daily life. It's all normal, and I've learned to make adjustments. The same is true for me, and I believe that it is something to be talked about. Lockhart has been a great example to other women regarding acceptance of oneself. She still admits having gone through a series of phases in her body, and felt uneasy in some instances to wear clothing that displayed her arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she'd like. and she shares her pictures to social networks. One of the keys to self-love for her is that it's not a place to go. It's true for all regardless of their level of insecurity. It's my opinion that having those around you who really understand you and can see your feelings is crucial as they'll be the ones who will remind you what you worried about?
