Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in Puy-de-Domme France on August 9 1976 the youngest child of four. Audrey Tautou's parents who were a dentist and a school teacher, supported and encouraged her early love for drama as well as theatre. The initial goal of her to become a master monkey was surpassed by her desire to study theater and drama. The rise was swift for her to be an internationally renowned young actor. Following her studies in 1998 she took part in a French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to launching acting professionally. Tautou attended church and the Institut Catholique de Paris during her early years, but is now separating herself from these upbringings. In addition to acting, she pursued modelling and was the face for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Photography is another hobby and she has recently displayed her work at the Arles festival with the name Superficial. Her photography is focused on celebrity, fame and the press that scrutinised her following her emergence on the scene in the film Amelie. Also, she has several photographs that show her self. Audrey Tautou became a star and gained international recognition with her first role in Amelie Poulain in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a box-office international success, and received accolades at award ceremonies around all over the world. It is currently the highest-grossing French film of the French language across the US. In the following year, she was a part of British dramas including Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Junet's Un long Sunday de Faancailles. After that, Tautou went to Hollywood to work in Hollywood, where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
