Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a famous Indian actress known for her performances in the film Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Kun..! In the 80s the actress began her acting career, and was famous for her role as Tezaab which she played alongside an established actor Anil Kapooor. Her next film was the film Dil where she starred alongside Aamir Khan. As a young child growing up in the middle class of Mumbai, she started to dance. At the age of 15 began acting, but had a difficult time as a majority films she made were not successful. The actress gained fame and was one of the top film actresses. She decided to take a break from her career following her marriage before returning to the world of entertainment. Recenty, she had a prominent role on the film Gulaab Gang. The film focused on the struggles of women in India. Dixit has received 15 Filmfare Awards nominations, of which, eight were awarded. Padma Shri - the fourth highest civilian honor in India is awarded to Dixit. Her fame is based on her charitable work as well.
